WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 2, 2019–Charlotte Jorst on her “best pal” Kastel’s Nintendo swept the Global Dressage Festival CDI3* Big Tour to win the Grand Prix Special Saturday night under lights, two days after capturing the Grand Prix in her campaign to make the United States team for the Pan American Games.
Charlotte, of Reno, Nevada and the 16-year-old KWPN stallion scored 72.447 per cent in the Special in the rider’s second competition since returning to Florida after a two-year break. The duo placed first and second the first week.
Heather Blitz of Wellington and Semper Fidelis posted a personal best 71.170 per cent in the pair’s third show since Heather took over the ride on the 13-year-old Oldenburg mare.
Rebecca Waite and Doktor placed third on 68.936 per cent. Rebecca was given the ride on the 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding after caring for Doktor for years when competed by Shelly Francis.
Charlotte described Nintendo as her “best pal”–“we’re like best friends and I think, the trust and the camaraderie between us is what I like the best.”
Her goal is to go to Europe with Nintendo then “I would love to do the Pan Am Games with him” in Lima, Peru in July.
