LAS VEGAS, Nevada, Dec. 4, 2018–The World Cup Finals of Dressage and Jumping are returning to the newly renovated Thomas & Mack Center in 2020, host of the previous six annual championships in Las Vegas.
The move to the Thomas & Mack Center was approved by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) after conflicts of event dates at the MGM Grand that was named as the venue when first awarded two years ago to the self-described “Entertainment Capital of the World.”
The World Cup scheduled for April 15-19 in 2020 will be its seventh time Las Vegas, following jumping finals in 2000 and 2003 then the combined dressage and jumping championships in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2015.
The Thomas & Mack Center has undergone a two-year, US$75/€66 million renovations and improvements, including enhanced stabling for horses, new arena seats, new entrances and escalators, upgraded concessions and restrooms, new floors, additional disability seating and improvements to the sound system.
The most notable addition is 36,000 sq.ft./3,344 sq. m), two-story VIP space, the “Strip View Pavilion,” which will be the event’s VIP Hospitality Center and features an outdoor patio overlooking the stabling area with spectacular views of the Las Vegas Strip.
