NICE, France, Aug. 5, 2018–Caroline Chew and Tribiani won the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday, the first international victory for the Singapore rider. The pair qualified here for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina next month.

Caroline and the 14-year-old Norwegian Warmblood gelding she competed at small tour in the 2015 and 2017 Southeast Asia Games were awarded 73.700 per cent, a personal best at Grand Prix.

Caroline, 26 years old, first competed Tribiani at the Southeast Asia Games in Singapore in 2015 and has since ridden in CDIs throughout western Europe, primarily in England.

In the Grand Prix Saturday, she earned the second of two qualifying scores, 68.152 per cent, needed to compete at the world championships in Tryon beginning Sept. 11.

Russia’s Veronika Topol on Don la Carlos was second on 65.125 per cent with Italy’s Pierluigi Sangiogi on Gelo Delle Schiave third on 63.200 per cent in the freestyle of which there were only three starting combinations.
