ERMELO, Netherlands, Aug. 4, 2018–Revolution, a Westfalen stallion owned and ridden by Denmark’s Andreas Helgstrand won the World Championships for five-year-old dressage horses Saturday.

Revolution was awarded 9.62 after a ride that, Andreas said: “I’ve won gold three times in world championships but that was the most exciting, because never, never was the level so high in the final.”

The silver medal went to the Hanoverian Destacado ridden by Germany’s Matthias Alexander Rath on a score of 9.48.

Candy OLD presented by Eva Möller took bronze and appeared to capture the hearts of spectators. Eva was given the ride when Helen Langehanenberg took a baby break this year but will go back to the Olympic rider. Eva joked after the ride: “That was the deal, and now of course I hope that this is not Helen’s last baby.”
