BOGOTÁ, Colombia, July 26, 2018–The Dominican Republic’s Yvonne Losos de Muñiz on Fredensdal’s Zig Zag won overall champion gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games, with Monica Burssens Alonso on Elfentanz for Mexico taking silver and Esther Mortimer Jones of Guatemala on Adajio the bronze.
Yvonne, a star of dressage in the Americas and qualified on another horse for the World Equestrian Games in two months, won the overall goal with a total of 281.135 from victories in the Prix St. Georges, Intermediate 1 and Intermediate Freestyle.
Monica Burssens Alonso, based in Florida, took silver on 209.606 to go with her team gold. Esther’s total of 208.676 took bronze.
Zig Zag ridden by Yvonne is a 10-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding owned by Kathy Priest of the United States.
The pair won the individual final, the Intermediate 1 Freestyle with Mexico’s Monica and Elfentanz second for silver and Mariana Qunitana Rivero on Benzema third for bronze:
