AACHEN, Germany, July 22, 2018–Shelly Francis rode Danilo to a personal best score to capture the CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday and the third European victory for the American pair this summer.

Shelly and the 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding were awarded 79.305 per cent, a score that surpassed their previous best of 77.725 per cent set at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida in January.

Shelly of Loxahatchee, Florida, a member of the U.S. Elite squad and part of the group in Europe vying for a place on the American team for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina in seven weeks, posted wins in the CDI3* Grand Prix and the Special at this same show grounds two months ago.

Germany’s eventing star Ingrid Klimke and Franziskus placed second on 78.390 per cent.

The USA’s Olivia LaGoy-Weltz of Haymarket, Virginia on Lonoir were third on 77.435 per cent. This combinaton is also among the American squad wrapping up the European summer tour.
