CALEDON, Ontario, July 22, 2018–Megan Lane, already a top qualifier with her Olympic and championship mount Caravella for the Canadian team for the World Equestrian Games, won both the Grand Prix and the Special with Zodiac MW that could give her a choice of horses for the championships in seven weeks.

Megan and the 14-year-old KWPN gelding won the Grand Prix Special on a score of 70.170 per cent, a day after capturing the Grand Prix in the last competition in Canada to qualify for the World Games in Tryon, North Carolina beginning Sept. 11.

Diane Creech on Diana C placed second on a score of 70.149 per cent in the Grand Prix Special that could give the pair an edge for the team of four riders and horses.

Belinda Trussell on Tattoo, also seeking to earn a start at the championships held only once every four years and only the second time in North America, placed third in the Special on 68.553 per cent.

Brittany Fraser on All In  and Jill Irving on Degas as well as Megan and Caravella did not compete at Caledon as their results fill the top three spots for the team.

If Diane Creech and Diana C qualify for Canada it could provide Louise Leatherdale of Long Lake, Minnesota with two combinations in the world championships.

Helen Langehanenberg, back in the saddle less than four weeks after the birth of her daughter, was a star for the German team on Damsey FRH at the CDIO5* Nations Cup in Aachen, Germany and the individual Grand Prix Freestyle this same weekend.
