HAGEN, Germany, June 14, 2018–Germany dominated the CDIO Young Rider Nations Cups, filling the top three places individually and also captured by the Junior team competition with a strong Russian squad taking silver.
Denmark won silver and Belgium bronze in the Young Rider division. In Juniors, Russia took silver and Denmark bronze.
Semmieke Rothenberger on Dissertation led Germany to victory in Young Rider on the top score of 76.127 per cent, Alexa Westendarp on Four Seasons was second on 72.598 per cent and Lia Welschof on Don Windsor OLD was third on 72.157 per cent but her score did not count for the team that includes two results only. Semmieke and the 11-year-old Hanoverian mare, world No. 1 Young Rider combination, led Germany to team gold at the 2016 European Junior Championships.
Karoline Rohmann on Noosa Melody on 70.686 per cent was the only other result of at least 70 per cent to lead Denmark to the silver medal.
Valentina Pistner riding Flamboyant OLD in the pair’s first year at international competition placed first on 73.889 per cent to lead Germany to team gold with Anna Guseynova on Lauda placing second on 73.030 per cent to lock up silver for Russia.
