NIZHNIY NOVGOROD, Russia, June 9, 2018–Inessa Merkulova and Mister X won the World Cup Grand Prix Saturday in the Russian pair’s campaign for their sixth final of the individual championship.

Inessa and the 14-year-old Russian-bred Trakehner gelding scored 74.652 per cent in their first competition since the World Cup in Paris two months ago, that was their fifth straight annual championship. The duo also competed at the 2016 Olympics and the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

Hanna Karasiova of Belarus on Zodiak, that also competed at the Paris final placed second on 72.109 per cent.

The Freestyle is scheduled for Sunday in the third of 15 qualifying competitions in the Central European League leading to the final at Gothenburg, Sweden in April 2019.
