OTTAWA, Ontario, May 19, 2018–Jill Irving and Arthur logged their first career victory in winning the National Capital Dressage Festival CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle on a personal best score Saturday.

Jill, an adult amateur. was awarded 70.450 per cent for the win, the first since the pair began Big Tour 15 months ago.

She is in contention on Degas, another of her Big Tour horses, for Canada’s team for the World Equestrian Games. Jill competed both horses in Europe last summer.

Tina Irwin on Laurencio was second on 67.700 per cent with Guatemala’s Esther Mortimer on Diamond Geezer third on 66.625 per cent.

Caravella, the 2016 Olympic and 2014 World Games mount for Megan Lane, did not start. The 17-year-old mare is also a contender for the 2018 WEG team.
