RANCHO MURIETA, California, April 7, 2018–Mette Rosencrantz rode the 18-year-old Marron to the pair’s career high score and the first Big Tour result above 70 per cent in winning the Golden State CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday.
One of only two combinations to start in the freestyle, Mette of Pacific Palisades, California and the Danish Warmblood gelding were awarded 73.775 per cent with Charlotte Jorst of Reno, Nevada and Kastel’s Akeem Foldager placing second on 72.475 per cent. Both horses were competed by Denmark’s Andreas Helgstrand before the current riders.
Mette began competing Marron three years ago mostly in California, but with stops at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida and on the U.S. team at the Nations Cup in Uggerhalne, Denmark last summer.
Charlotte Jorst, who won the Grand Prix Friday, rode Kastel’s Nintendo to victory in the Grand Prix Special on a score of 71.809 per cent with Jennifer Schrader-Williams of Roy, Washington on Millione second on 66.340 per cent and Kathleen Raine of Murietta third on 64.362 per cent.
