WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 27, 2018–Melissa Taylor and Ansgar won the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI3* Prix St. Georges Tuesday, the first victory for the pair in more than two years of international competition and in the final week of the Florida winter circuit.
The small tour competition was the opening event of the CDIO3* Nations Cup in which Australia, Canada, Spain and the United States have teams for the first of seven legs in the trans-Atlantic series. Canada, Spain and the U.S. will also contest the Under-25 Nations Cup.
The win for Melissa and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding on a score of 69.441 per cent was in their sixth CDI of the season.
Melissa, married to Lars Petersen, a top rider for Denmark who now competes under the American flag, is based in neighboring Loxahatchee.
Nora Batchelder of Ocala, Florida and Fifi MLW placed second on 68.559 per cent and Canada’s Brittany Fraser on Soccer City third on 68.265 per cent.
