DORTMUND, Germany, Mar. 25, 2018–Kristina Bröring-Sprehe and Desperados FRH won the Signal Idun CDI4* Grand Prix Special Sunday for a double victory in the comeback show for the German Olympic partnership.
Kristina and the 17-year-old Hanoverian stallion posted a score of 79.851 per cent for Sunday’s win after a similar result in the Grand Prix that was the first competition after an absence of 16 month with injuries.
The combination of the 31-year-old rider and the black stallion will be back in the standings where they were ranked No.1 in the world for nine months in 2016 but dropped out after 12 months with no results.
Kristina and Desperados (De Niro x Wolkenstein II) competed for Germany at the 2012 Olympics to win team silver, won team gold and individual bronze at the 2014 World Equestrian Games and team gold and individual bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The pair were on German medal teams at European Championships in 2013 and 2015, the last winning silver behind Great Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin on Valegro in the Freestyle.
Sweden’s Therese Nilshagen on Dante Weltino OLD were second on 75.660 per cent
Denmark’s Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Blue Horse Zepter placed third on 73. per cent in the first Grand Prix Special for the pair that had logged one previous CDI Grand Prix, at Herning, Denmark last October.
