DORTMUND, Germany, Mar. 24, 2018–Inessa Merkulova and Mister X won the Signal Iduna CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday less than three weeks before heading to Paris for the fifth World Cup Final for the top ranked Russian pair.
Inessa and the 14-year-old Russian-bred Trakehner gelding scored 78.725 per cent for the win as the duo near the anniversary of five years at Big Tour.
Inessa and Mister X competed at the 2016 Olympics, 2014 World Equestrian Games, 2015 and 2017 European as well World Cup Finals in Las Vegas; Omaha, Nebraska; Gothenberg, Sweden and Lyon, France.
German Olympian Hubertus Schmidt on Imperio placed second on 76.000 per cent and compatriot Jan-Dirk Giesselmann on Real Dancer FRH third on 75.450 per cent.
