FEILDING, New Zealand, Feb. 16, 2018–John Thompson and JHT Antonello rode for a personal best score to win the New Zealand Dressage Championships CDI3* Grand Prix Special Friday.
John and the 16-year-old New Zealand-bred Hanoverian gelding scored 70.830 per cent, surpassing their previous best of 70.235 per cent set in March 2017 to squeeze out the 2016 Olympic pair of Julie Brougham and Vom Feinsten who had captured the Grand Prix a day earlier.
Julie and her family’s 15-year-old Rhinelander gelding scored 70.660 per cent for second place with Abbie Deken on K H Ambrose in third on 67.957 per cent.
