DEL MAR, California, Jan. 19, 2018–Steffen Peters logged the fourth win on Suppenkasper in four Big Tour starts for the 10-year-old gelding since arriving in America, claiming the Adequan West Coast Dressage Festival CDI3* Grand Prix Special Friday and the only combination to score above 67 per cent.

Steffen and the KWPN gelding acquired last summer as a prospect for this year’s World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics scored were awarded 70.766 per cent for the ride with mistakes in both the one and two-tempi changes.

The ride by Steffen of neighboring San Diego came after Thursday’s Grand Prix that scored better than 74 per cent and showed the potential of the horse that was trained and competed by German Olympian Helen Langehanenberg. This event was only the second Big Tour show–and fourth start–for Suppenkasper since arriving in America.

Charlotte Jorst of Reno, Nevada on Kastel’s Akeem Foldager placed second on 66.426 per cent in the class of seven combinations.

Germany’s Sarah Runge on Dark Dynamic were third on 66.383 per cent.
