LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Dec. 22, 2017–The 2018 U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions of all 14 national championships will be staged at the Lamplight Equestrian Center in the Chicago suburb of Wayne, Illinois Aug. 21-26.

The festival of champions will be the umbrella event of all American championships from young horses to ponies to Grand Prix for the first time.

With dressage at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina scheduled for Sept. 12-16, just two weeks after the national championships, it is not known whether the U.S. team Grand Prix horses will take part.

The U.S. Equestrian Federation championships to be hosted at Lamplight are:

–Grand Prix
–Intermediaire I
–Young Adult (Under-25) ‘Brentina Cup’
–Young Rider
–Junior
–Pony Rider
–Children
–Young and Developing Horse for four-, five-, and six-year-olds, as well as Developing Grand Prix and Developing Prix St. Georges
–Dressage Seat Medal Finals for the 13 & Under and 14-18 divisions.

“Previously, our USEF Dressage National Championships have felt splintered by having two different events, in different locations,” said Hallye Griffin, Managing Director of Dressage.

“Holding the full spectrum of the championships in one location, over a weeklong period, will give us the opportunity to showcase the talented athlete/horse combinations across the full spectrum of the divisions. We hope that this will also prove to be an exciting event for spectators, sponsors, vendors, and supporters as we look to grow the event into something very special, while continuing to highlight our dressage competition pathways and programs in an effort to deliver continued sustainable success in our sport.”
