LAUSANNE, Switzerland, Dec.1, 2017–Isabell Werth and Emilio moved up to No. 3 in the world behind Weihegold OLD still at the top while Spain’s Beatriz Ferrer-Salat vaulted to 16th from 299th in the latest rankings released Friday. Isabell and Don Johnson FRH remained at No. 6.
The most decorated Olympic equestrian with 10 medals is the first rider to have two horses ranked in the top three in the world since 2009 when Isabell was ranked No. 1 with Satchmo and second with Warum Nicht.
Sönke Rothenberger on Cosmo, Isabell’s Olympic and European Championship team mates, remained at No. 2 .
America’s Laura Graves and Verdades, who have not competed in four months as dressage at the Central Park Horse Show was canceled, slipped one place to No. 4 with the elevation of Isabell and Emilio.
German Olympic riders Dorothee Schneider on Sammy Davis Jr. and Helen Langehanenberg on the American-owned Damsey FRH jumped into the top 10 for the first time for these combinations, Sammy Davis to No. 8 from 17th and Damsey to No. 10 from 15th.
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Unee BB, out of competition for six months earlier this year for a baby break for the German team rider, moved to No. 11 from 86th.
