TALLINN, Estonia, Sept. 2, 2017–Hanna Karasiova of Belarus on Zodiak won the World Cup Freestyle Saturday to jump to the top of the Central European League rankings seeking to earn one of two places at the final in Paris next April.

Hanna and the nine-year-old Latvian gelding scored 71.320 per cent for the win, the fourth victory in six starts this year.

The pair picked up 20 points for the win and brought their Central European total to 54 points with Russia’s Inessa Merkulova, Róbert Ács of Hungary and Nikolett Szalai, both of Hungary tied on 35 points. However, a CEL World Cup qualifier is also being staged in Moscow this weekend. The pair also placed third on Arlekino.

Sweden’s Jeanna Hogberg on Duendecillo P was second on 70.605 per cent and carries the 15 points awarded here back to the Western European League for the start of its winter circuit next month.
