European Young Rider Championships individual and freestyle medalists Hannah Erbe (center) gold, Anna-Christian Abbelen silver and Jasmien de Koeyer bronze.

ROOSENDAAl, Netherlands, Aug. 13, 2017–Germany’s Hannah Erbe and Carlos won European Championships Young Rider Freestyle gold Sunday for a sweep of the three gold medal events.

Hannah and the 10-year-old Rhineberg gelding (Carabas x Welmeyer) scored 80.325 per cent for the win, a day after capturing the individual title and also leading her team to gold.

The pair won three gold medals at the 2016 European Junior championships, taking the top spots in the individual and freestyle competitions and placing second individually in the team event.

Hannah, 18 years old, and Carlos, owned by her family, also won European Junior Championship team and individual gold in 2015.

Anna-Christina Abbelen and First Lady, team mates on the German squad, placed second in the freestyle on 77.400 per cent with Jasmien de  Koeyer on Esperanza of the Netherlands third on 77.225 per cent, the same order of finish as the individual competition.
