SÃO PAULO, Brazil, July 2, 2017–Giovana Pass, the teenage Brazilian Olympic team rider, won the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle on Zingaro de Lyw in the first Big Tour musical performance for the pair.
Giovana and the 13-year-old Spanish-bred Lusitano stallion scored 71.460 per cent for the victory following a win in the Grand Prix two days ago that was their first competition outing since the Olympics.
“I’ve never done a Grand Prix freestyle,” the 19-year-old rider said, “to this day only one in the Young Rider category. I’m very pleased with our evolution in this return after the Olympics.”
This event was the first qualifier for Brazil for the South American Games and the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina in 2018.
Pan American Games rider Sarah Waddell rode Quixote Arco Polo Z to victory in the Grand Prix Special on a score of 66.961 percent.
