GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 27, 2017–Guatemala’s partnership of Isabel Arzu and Macchiato won Tuesday’s opening competition of the International Sports Festival of Central American nations, a qualifying competition for the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Isabel and the 12-year-old Westfalen gelding in the pair’s first international competition scored 65.778 per cent in the preliminary Young Rider test.

Fellow Guatemalan Andrea Schorpp on Zedrick Dyloma that competed at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida and the 2015 Pan Ams were second on 64.333 per cent.

Margarita de Castillo also of Guatemala on Quanderus was third on 64.250 per centin the preliminary Young Rider test.
