WIESBADEN, Germany, June 3, 2017-Isabell Werth and Don Johnson FRH won the CDI4* Grand Prix Saturday for the 12th straight victory for the pair newly ranked No. 8 in the world.
Isabell and the 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 77.900 per cent to extend the longest winning streak for the partnership that began Big Tour more than six years ago.
The uninterrupted string of victories for the duo began last November following a break from competition of almost year for the horse while Isabell focused on Weihegold OLD, on which she is ranked No. 1 in the world, to win Olympic team gold and individual silver to bring her Olympic medal tally to 10, the most of any equestrian in history.
Isabell and Don Johnson competed on German teams at the 2015 and 2013 European Championships.
Fellow Germans Charlott-Maria Schürmann on Burlington FRH were awarded 73.640 per cent for second place and Hendrik Lochthowe scored 72.480 per cent for third.
