MUNICH, Germany, May 26, 2017–Isabell Werth and Don Johnson FRH won the CDI5* Grand Prix Friday for the 10th straight victory for the partnership spanning more than six years at Big Tour.
Isabell and Don Johnson, 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding, scored 77.960 per cent for the 10th victory stretching back to last November.
Isabell and Don Johnson, on German teams at the 2015 and 2013 European Championships, are ranked No. 13 in the world, after her partnership with Olympic team gold medal mount and World Cup champion Weihegold OLD at No. 1 and with Emilio No. 8.
German team mate Dorothee Schneider on Sammy Davis, Jr. placed second on 75.720 per cent.
The 11-year-old German Sport Horse stallion that Dorothee rode to win the 2016 Louisdor Prize, Germany’s developing Grand Prix championship, will be her primary mount seeking a place on the European Championship team this year as her Olympic mount Showtime is still recovering from an injury.
German team veteran Hubertus Schmidt and Imperio were third on 74.880 per cent.
Anabel Balkenhol was fourth on 74.100 per cent on Heuberger TSF, also a graduate of last year’s Louisdor Prize.
Jenny Lang-Nobbe of Germany and Loverboy won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special on 72.863 per center in the first Big Tour competition in six months.
Austria’s Victoria Max-Theurer and Blind Date in their first show in a year placed second 72.588 per cent. Hendrik Lochthowe on Meggle’s Boston that won the Grand Prix Thursday were third on 72.510 per cent.
