SEGOVIA, Spain, May 12, 2017–Beatriz Ferrer-Salat and Delgado won the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday in the first competition for the Spanish pair since last summer’s Rio Olympic Games.

Beatriz and the 16-year-old Westfalen gelding scored 75.680 per cent as the pair wrap up seven years at Big Tour, the horse’s career marked by lengthy absences from competition due to health issues. In the past year, the pair have dropped from No. 2 in the world to 237th in the latest rankings.

Claudio Castilla Ruiz on Alcaide was second on 70.360 per cent with Agusti Elias Lara on Altaneiro third on 69,020 per cent with Spanish riders filling the top eight places.
