United States championship final entries were posted Monday night after a dramatic 11th-hour ruling by the international sports court allowing Kaitlin Blythe to ride Don Principe in the Brentina Cup Under-25 and Adrienne Lyle to compete Horizon in the Intermediate 1. Ashley Holzer will ride in her first American Grand Prix championship competing against Breaking Dawn that she rode in one of her four Olympics for Canada.

Kasey Perry-Glass on Dublet will be the sole pair from the 2016 Olympic bronze medal team entered in The Dutta Corp. Festival of Champions that is returning to historic Gladstone, New Jersey May 17-21.

Eight combinations will compete in the Tim Dutta Grand Prix Championship and 16 in the Tim Dutta Intermediate 1 division where each will ride in three classes with the pairs with the highest average taking the titles. Seven pairs are entered in the Brentina Cup Under-25 championship.

The championships were not held last year for the first time since the inaugural event in 1991.

They have been overwhelmed to some extent by the explosive success of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival of seven CDIs over three months in Wellington, Florida in winter coupled with growing numbers of top Americans competing in Europe over summer, including in the still new trans-Atlantic Nations Cup series.

Defending Grand Prix champion from 2015 Laura Graves has made clear Verdades on whom she is ranked No. 4 in the world will not be over-competed after the Olympics and then qualifying for the Omaha World Cup Final where the pair was reserve champion six weeks ago. Steffen Peters is following a similar path with the still young Rosamunde. Both are expected to be top contenders for the American team at the World Games in Tryon in September 2018.

Allison Brock did not seek a start with Rosevelt as she did not feel the horse was in peak condition.
