MANNHEIM, Germany, May 5, 2017–Isabell Werth rode Don Johnson FRH to victory in the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday for the eighth straight win for the German pair in the past six months.

“I am super happy!” said Isabell after scoring 78.080 per cent on the 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding. Don Johnson, with whom Isabell is ranked No. 13 in the world, is one of four Grand Prix mounts for Isabell including Weihegold OLD that she won Olympic team gold and individual silver last year and her third World Cup title in Omaha five weeks ago.

“Johnny was very focused today and showed a safe test–that was just a good thing,” said Isabell.

Dorothee Schneider, her German Olympic team mate, placed second on Sammy Davis Jr. on 76.100 per cent, only the second CDI for the partnership. Dorothee and the 11-year-old German Sport Horse stallion performed their first Big Tour event two months ago.

Helen Langehanenberg, the 2012 German Olympic team rider, was third on Damsey FRH with a score of 75.140 per cent.
