LAUSANNE, Switzerland, May 5, 2017–Revised dressage world rankings were published Friday, altering standings of several combinations including the USA Olympic team bronze medal pair Kerry Perry-Glass and Dublet that move higher.
The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) that compiles the rankings based on scores from the previous 12 months said its dressage department and IT team had included results from the previous 11 months only as it sought to include as many scores as possible–including from Monday May 1 when some competitions had continued from the weekend.
The rankings are vital for riders as they are used frequently to determine starting places in CDIs–the top riders typically drawn in the last group rather than an open draw which is considered less favorable.
Kasey Perry-Glass of Wellington, Florida on Dublet was ranked 17th in the revised standings, up one place from April and compared with 19th in the incorrect version, as one example of the errors.
