HAGEN, Germany, April 29, 2017–Sweden’s Malin Nilsson rode Foreign Affair to victory Saturday in the inaugural Prix St. Georges Special for the 2017 Nürnberger Burg-Pokal, the 10-month long German championship series for seven to nine-year-old horses.
Malin, based in Germany with Swedish Olympian Patrik Kittel, and the seven-year-old KWPN stallion scored 74.976 per cent for the victory that qualifies the pair for the final in Frankfurt in December.
The win on Foreign Affair (Rock Forever x Scandic) came after the 28-year-old Malin posted a double victory on Bon-Ami in their debut CDI Grand Prix earlier this month.
Helen Langehanenberg, who rode on Germany’s 2012 Olympic team, on Brisbane FE was second on 73.146 per cent in the first of 12 qualifiers in the series that was begun a quarter-century ago.
