MURIETA, California, April 8, 2017–Kathleen Raine posted her first Big Tour victory on Zuperman in winning the Golden State CDI3* Grand Prix Special Saturday.
Kathleen, an American team rider of Murrieta, California and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding scored 66.333 per cent for the win at the start of their second year at Big Tour.
Canadian Wendy Christoff on Treffer was second on 64.745 per cent cent and amateur Alix Curry of Pescadora, California on Zeta third on 62.314 per cent in a field that winnowed to three starting pairs after the elimination of Canada’s Sandra Verda-Zenatta on Wilhelm.
Mette Rosencrantz of Topango, Californa and Marron won the Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 69,650 per cent and the only starting combination in the class.
The victory for Mette and the 17-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding was the third this year, having won the Grand Prix Friday and posting a win at the World Cup event in Burbank, California a month ago.
