SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, California, Mar. 26, 2017–Dawn White-O’Conor and Legolas won the Dressage Affaire CDI3* Grand Prix to notch the pair’s first victory since taking over the ride on the American Olympic team bronze medal horse.
The victory on a score of 73.780 per cent for Dawn of San Diego, California and Legolas, a 15-year-old Westfalen gelding, came in just the fourth CDI for the partnership since the first Big Tour event at the beginning of this year.
Legolas, owned by Akiko Yamazaki’s Four Winds Farm, had been ridden by Steffen Peters of San Diego for five years including the 2014 World Games and the 2016 Olympics. Dawn has worked with Steffen for a decade.
Charlotte Jorst of Reno, Nevada and Kastel’s Akeem Foldager won the Grand Prix Freestyle on a score of 74.750 per cent with just three starting combinations.
Dawn placed second on Aristo on 70.750 per cent.
