WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 24, 2017–Anna Buffini rode Sundayboy to victory in the Under-25 Nations Cup Freestyle Friday, completing their partnership with a personal best score before going home to Southern California to retire.
Anna and the 18-year-old KWPN gelding scored 73.525 per cent in the only Florida season for the pair based in Del Mar, California. There, she was coached by U.S. multi-Olympian Günter Seidel who had competed the horse on both sides of the Atlantic six years ago.
The pair also won team gold at the North American Young Rider Championships in 2014.
“He’s done all he needs to do for me,” the 22-year-old rider said, “and I’m not going to ask any more of him. He’s given me his whole heart, and that’s all I could have asked.”
