In the first Under-25 team competition outside Europe, the U.S. team of Anna, 22, of Del Mar, California; Sean Sierra Keasler, 24, of Wellington on Lux Stensvang and Kerrigan Gluch, 20, also of Wellington on HGF Brio took the top spot with two scores counting.
Silver went to USA B team of Kaitlin Blythe of Rougemont, North Carolina and Don Principe; Molly Paris of Charlotte, North Carolina and Countess, and Genay Vaughn of Elk Grove, California and Donarweiss GGF.
Canada took bronze with Mathilde Blais-Tetreault of Montreal on Utah and Tanya Strasser-Shostak of Sainte-Adèle, Quebec on Action Tyme.
Anna had set the Nations Cup on the other side of the United States from her California base as her goal this year and described the experience as “like nothing else.”
Terri Kane of Diamante Farms in Wellington stepped up to sponsor the event–“this is our future.”
Thomas Baur, the Global dressage director, said the nine under-25 riders in this inaugural year was a good start and the event would be on the calendar for 2018.
