BONEO, Australia, Jan. 21,2017–Mary Hanna and Boogie Woogie, her 2016 Rio Olympic mount, posted a personal best score to win the CDI3* Grand Prix Special Saturday on the first anniversary of the 11-year-old KWPN gelding starting Big Tour.
The five-time Olympian for Australia scored 71.588 per cent for the first Grand Prix Special result above 70 per cent in the five competitions since beginning Big Tour at this same event in 2016. Their previous high for the Special was 69.745 per cent at Darmstadt, Germany in September.
The victory was the fourth straight in four starts for Mary and Boogie Woogie since returning home from the Games.
Rozzie Ryan and Adonie placed second on 67.314 per cent with Deon Stokes on Royal Oak II third on 66.157 per cent.
