The Nations Cup series for 2017 will expand to a record eight competitions on both sides of the Atlantic with the restoration of Hickstead, England to the schedule after a break for a year.

The lineup of team competitions that had its first official year as an International Equestrian Federation (FEI) series in 2016 will grow in both number to eight from six in 2016 as well as adding Kiev, Ukraine in central Europe.

Hickstead had been in the circuit from the beginning but dropped out in 2016 because of financing issues.

The series included the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida and five western European venues this year and in two years of testing the format following a tryout in 2013 that had four events.

The United States won the 2016 series with Sweden reserve champion and Denmark third.
