SALZBURG, Austria, Dec. 10, 2016–Dorothee Schneider and Showtime FRH posted their third straight 80 per cent Grand Prix score to win the Amadeus World Cup in the first competition since claiming gold on the German team at the Rio Olympics four months ago.
Dorothee and the 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 80.560 per cent in their first World Cup event this season leading to the final in Omaha, Nebraska Mar. 27-April 2.
Spain’s Olympic partnership of Severo Jurado Lopez on Lorenzo was runner-up on 75.780 per cent. Germany’s Jessica von Bredow-Werndl on Unee BB was third on 75.300 per cent.
The Grand Prix victory for Dorothee and Showtime at the fourth of nine Western European League World Cup events came after scoring above 80 per cent in the pair’s two previous competitions, the Olympics in Rio in August and the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany a month earlier.
The Freestyle to determine points is scheduled for Sunday.
