WERRIBEE, Australia, Dec. 9, 2016–Mary Hanna rode her Olympic partner, Boogie Woogie, to the highest score of their Big Tour career to win the World Cup Grand Prix Friday.
Mary and the 10-year-old KWPN gelding were awarded 71.250 per cent by the ground jury of four judges, the best result and the first win for the pair in 13 starts since beginning Grand Prix in January.
This was also the first competition in Australia since their second show at Big Tour in March when the duo went to Europe to win selection to the Australian team at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, her fifth Games.
Mary placed second on Sancette with a score of 67.325 per cent.
Australian judge Susan Hoevenaars was not on the panel but the reason was not immediately known.
This is the last of seven World Cup events in the Pacific/Asia League ahead of the league final in Feilding, New Zealand in February to determine the single representative for the championship final in Omaha, Nebraska at the end of March.
