OLDENBURG, Germany, Nov. 25, 2016–Russia’s Olympic partnership of Inessa Merkulova and Mister X won the CDI4* Grand Prix Friday with Great Britain’s Laura Tomlinson on Rosalie B posting a personal best score for runner-up.

Inessa and the 12-year-old Russian-bred Trakehner gelding scored 77.720 per cent for the 20th victory in the past two years. The pair competed at last summer’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the 2014 World Games, 2015 European Championships and the past three World Cup Finals and are expected to receive an invitation to the World Cup Final in Omaha next March.

The score for Laura Tomlinson and Rosalie of 74.400 per cent surpassed the previous best of 72.660 per cent posted at Rotterdam five months ago.

Laura, an Olympic team gold and individual bronze medal rider on Mistral Hojris in London in 2012, competed the 10-year-old Westfalen mare at Small Tour in 2014 and 2015 before moving up to Big Tour in Wellington, Florida at last winter’s Adequan Global Dressage Festival.

Rosalie (Rubin Royal x Newcastle) was bred by her trainer, German Olympic gold medalist Klaus Balkenhol.

Sweden’s Michelle Hagman on Happiness placed third on 72.100 per cent,
