STUTTGART, Germany, Nov. 19, 2016–Isabell Werth and Emilio captured the German Masters CDI4* Grand Prix Saturday with gaping differences in the scores.
Isabell and the 10-year-old Westfalen gelding were awarded 75.580 per cent in the first competition in more than four months, the Grand Prix to qualify for the Special. On the five-member judging panel, Italian judge Vincenzo Truppa at C scored the ride 79.900 per cent as the highest and Francis Verbeek von Rooy of the Netherlands at M gave it 71.700 per cent at the lowest.
Fellow German Anabel Balkenhol on her 2012 Olympic mount Dablino FRH placed second on 74.340 per cent for the fifth top three finish in the past three months.
Fabienne Lütkemeier and the nine-year-old Fabregaz completed the German sweep of the top three places by placing third on 71.580 per cent.
Isabell is scheduled to ride Weihegold OLD, her Olympic mount, in the Grand Prix Freestyle later Saturday, a day after winning the World Cup Grand Prix.
