MELBOURNE, Australia, Nov. 17, 2016–Australian Olympian Mary Hanna rode Sancette to victory in the Equitana World Cup Grand Prix Friday in the first competition for the Hanoverian gelding in more than two years.
Mary and the 15-year-old Sancette scored 68.600 per cent, just 0.020 per cent in front of the result of 68.580 per cent for Umbro, the second ride in the Grand Prix for the five-time Olympic rider. Lesley Anne Taylor on Amicelli Gold was third on 68.200 per cent.
Mary last competed Sancette at the World Games in Normandy in 2014 where the pair were the highest placed overall at 29th of the Australians.
