SYDNEY, Oct. 22, 2016–Mary Warren, 18 years old and a year out of Young Riders, rode her black Australian-bred stallion Mindarah Park Ramadan to victory in the Australian Championships World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday night.
In only their fourth Big Tour show since starting Grand Prix in April, Mary and the 14-year-old Ramadan, a Holsteiner breeding stallion , scored 71.000 per cent, the first victory and the first Grand Prix result above 70 per cent for the partnership.
The victory will give the pair based at her parents Mindarah Park training center in Maitland about 112 mile/180km north of Sydney an invitation to the final of the Pacific/Asia League in New Zealand that will determine the single spot for the geographic area to the World Cup Final in Omaha next March.
The duo was the 2015 Australian CDN Grand Prix Champion as well as 2012 New South Wales Young Rider Medium Champion.
Ramadan is Mary’s first Grand Prix horse but she competes Mindarah Park Raphael at Young Riders.
Heath Ryan and Utopian Cardinal, by his Regardez Moi the same stallion as for Ramadan, placed second on 70.500 per cent. Roberta Soster and Robali Razzamatazz 70.475 per cent. Heath competed Regardez Moi, 20 years old, in CDIs until earlier this year.
