SYDNEY, Sept. 10, 2016–Heath Ryan rode his home-bred Utopian Cardinal to victory in the Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday night for the second straight World Cup win in the series leading to the Final at Omaha next March.

Heath and the 12-year-old gelding sired by his Regardez Moi scored 70.60 per cent for the win three months after taking the Melbourne World Cup freestyle.

Judith Dierks on Diamond Star placed second on 70.25 per cent, a day after capturing the Grand Prix. Deon Stokes on Royal Oak II was third on 68.23 per cent.

This was the second of seven World Cup events in the World Cup Asia/Pacific league which is allocated one starting place in the Final. A head-to-head competition in December decides the combination for the Final of the annual global championship centered on the Freestyle.
