RIO DE JANEIORO, Aug. 1, 2016–Dressage horses from 10 nations arrived Monday night for the Olympic Games, one week ahead of the veterinary check of 60 horses qualified to start in the Grand Prix.

Team horses from Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, Spain and the United States as well as individuals from Austria, Ireland, Mexico, Palestine and Switzerland were on the flight from Belgium to Rio’s international airport as organized by Peden Bloodstock.

The horses were unloaded on containers and driven by truck to Deodoro, the Olympic equestrian venue about an hour from Rio.

The horses were all in their stables by about 3:30 a.m. local time (0830 CET).
