Two households will have husbands and wives competing for different nations–Australia vs. Sweden and Denmark vs, Great Britain–at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro next month.

The announcement Tuesday that Anders Dahl on Selten, 12-year-old American-bred Hanoverian gelding has been selected for Denmark’s team came a week after Fiona Bigwood, his wife, had been named on Orthilia, 11-year-old Oldenburg mare, to Great Britain’s team.

Lyndal Oatley on Sandro Boy was chosen for Australia while Patrik Kittel, her husband, on Deja was picked   for Sweden.

This will be the first championships that Fiona, 40 years old, and Anders, also 40 years old, have competed against each other. Rio will be the first Olympics for both riders.

The couple (people, that is) have three children and live in England.
