CAPPELN, Germany, July 8, 2016–Austria’s Astrid Neumayer on DSP Rodriguez won the Gestüt Vorwerk CDI4* Grand Prix Friday to qualify for the freestyle while the USA’s Jennifer Hoffmann posted a personal best score on XXXL Rubinio NRW to take second place.

Astrid and the 16-year-old German Sport Horse gelding score 69.900 per cent for the first victory in three years at Grand Prix.

The German’based Jennifer Hoffmann was awarded 69.660 per cent, the best result for the rider in two years of competing the 13-year-old Westfalen stallion at Big Tour.

“Ruby is becoming more and more consistent and is becoming more confident with super highlights in piaffe/passage, pirouettes, tempi changes and an amazing relaxed walk tour,” she said. “I’m so excited about where we are headed.”

Julie Brougham, selected to be New Zealand’s sole dressage representative  on Vom Feinsten at the Olympic Games next month were third on 68.080 per cent.

Victoria Max-Theurer, already announced to ride in her third Olympics for Austria, on Della Cavalleria OLD won the Grand Prix for the Special with a score of 71.820 per cent with Poland’ Aleksandra Szulc on Rumba Hit second on 69.960 per cent and Germany’s Stella Charlott Roth on Rubin Action third on 69.040 per cent.
