ROOSENDAAL, Netherlands, June 4, 2016–Danielle Heijkoop returned Siro to Big Tour competition after more than a year away to capture the Den Goubergh CDI4* Grand Prix Saturday while the USA’s Steffen Peters and Rosamunde placed third.

Danielle and the 17-year-old KWPN gelding were awarded 73.980 per cent for the win in the first CDI since January, 2015. The pair had been on the Dutch silver medal team at the 2013 European Championships.

Madeleine Witte-Vrees also of the Netherlands on Cennin was second on 73.020 per cent.

Steffen Peters of San Diego, California and Rosamunde, a nine-year-old Rhinelander mare, was third on 72.220 per cent. Steffen on Legolas on Friday won the Grand Prix to qualify for the Special scheduled for later Saturday.

Mikala Gundersen, the Wellington, Florida-based Danish team rider on My Lady, was fourth on 71.420 per cent in their first competition in Europe this year as they prepare for the Danish Championships in their campaign to make the nation’s team at the Olympics in two months.
