‘S-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, Mar. 12, 2016–Hans Peter Minderhoud on Glock’s Flirt won the Indoor Brabant World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday to wrap up worldwide qualifying for the Final in Gothenburg, Sweden in two weeks.
Hans Peter and the 15-year-old stallion scored 81.775 per cent to move the pair up to second place behind Germany superstar Isabell Werth on the Western European League standings and consolidated their ranking as the top Dutch pair in the series of nine indoor events leading to the Final of the annual world championship.
Diederik van Silfhout on Arlando, team mate of Hans Peter at the 2014 World Games and last summer’s European Championships placed second on 80.150 per cent.
Beatriz Ferrer-Salat on Delgado, Spain’s 2015 European Championship individual bronze medal pair, were third on 79.325 per cent.
This was the second victory in the 2015/16 WEL circuit, having won on Flirt in Stockholm in November.
“It’s happening a month earlier than normal,” Hans Peter said of the Final, “so that’s great because it’s close to the end of the season and my horse is feeling really good.
”He’s never difficult, he’s a really hard-working boy, he’s a sweet boy, and I felt we did two really super tests here” he added.
The lineup of Finalists will be declared in the next few days with nine from the Western European League, two from Central Europe, two from North America and one from the Pacific.The WEL standings:
