LIER, Belgium, Mar. 5, 2016–Belgium’s Fanny Verliefden on Annarico posted a personal best score to win the CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday night with not much more than a day to the deadline to qualify for the summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Fanny and the 11-year-old KWPN mare were awarded 79.700 per cent that was only 0.725 per cent higher than their previous best of78.975 per cent for the pair that competed in last summer’s European Championships.

Portugal’s Daniel Pinto on Santurian de Massa was second on 76.050 per cent while Jeroen Devroe, also of Belgium on Eres DL received a personal best of 75.825 per cent.

Belgium is striving to qualify individuals for the Olympics but time may have run out with the deadline the end of the day Sunday.
