WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 7, 2016–Dressage-sponsored teams earned funding from Wellington’s Great Charity Challenge that distributed $1.65 million this weekend, bringing the total raised for Palm Beach County charities to $9.2 million over seven years.
The pro-am jumping team competition at the Winter Equestrian Festival at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center was topped by the George Snow Scholarship Fund with team sponsors Spy Coast & Preston, and corporate sponsor Fidelity Investments to win $150,000.
Friends of Foster Children with the Mershad Family as the team sponsor and Diamante Farms the training center of dressage competitor Devon Kane as corporate sponsor earned $100,000.
Habitat for Humanity South Palm Beach County with the Van Kampen Foundation as team sponsor and La Victoria Farm as corporate sponsor, JDRF with team sponsor Peacock Ridge and corporate sponsor Stone Hill Farm and Christopher Aguirre Memorial Foundation with team sponsor Gierkink Family and corporate sponsor The Elizabeth B. Juliano Charitable Trust (Havensafe Farm) were other dressage-related teams that shared in the distribution.
