WELLINGTON, Florida, Jan. 21, 2016–International Grand Prix competitions have doubled in size five years on from the launch of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival and the World Cup Big Tour next week will go over two days.

Equestrian Sport Productions, organizer of the Global Dressage Festival, reported Thursday 56 confirmed entries from 13 nations in the CDI-W Grand Prix. The winter World Cup Grand Prix circuit kickoff two weeks ago had 38 starting combinations from 15 nations.

The first two competitions from GDF’s debut circuit in 2012 were 15 riders and horses from six nations and 29 combinations from seven nations, respectively.

At the same time, prize money has almost trebled to a total of $703,800 for seven shows this year from a total of $254,160 for five shows in 2012.
